Welcome to Sculpture at the Horace Mann School

Sculpture at the Horace Mann School enables students to explore the possibilities of three dimensional space using components from art history, computer design and analysis, and both conventional and non-conventional sculpture materials. Students are exposed to working with a wide variety of materials and also learn to develop and refine the conceptual nature of their artwork.

“When we say that a great sculpture has vision, power, vitality, scale, poise,
form or beauty, we are not speaking of physical attributes. Vitality is not a
physical, organic attribute of sculpture- it is a spiritual inner life”
